TI Launches High-Speed USB 2.0 On-The-Go Solution

The TI (Texas Instruments) has launched a new micro controller that comes with USB On The Go.

The device is called TUSB6020.

The USB-OTG Technology defines a "Mini-Host Controller" with limited capabilities as compared to the regualar USB host controllers.

The TI's controller can handle multitude of customer applications.

The TUSB6020 can act either as a function controller for a USB peripheral or as the host/peripheral in point-to-point or multipoint communications. The idle mode operation consumes than 100uA and extends battery life in consumer devices, such as mobile handsets, portable media players or video applications.

And it supports all 3 USB speeds., the low speed of 1.5 Mbps, full speed of 12 Mbps and high speed of 480 Mbps.
